This years Lil Weezyana Fest is going to be something special.

Lil Wayne, not content to sit back and let all these other rappers have their own festivals, has been throwing his own Lil Weezyana Fests in his hometown of New Orleans for the past three years. Now, the fourth iteration of the festival has been announced, and it's falling on a very important anniversary in rap history.

The festival, which will be held on August 25th, 2018, at Champions Square in New Orleans, will take place during the ten-year anniversary of one of Lil Wayne's most celebrated albums, Tha Carter III.

Tha Carter III was highly anticipated when it arrived back in 2008. Lil Wayne always said he was the best rapper alive, and he did his best to prove it with this album, debuting at number one on the Billboard charts and creating hit singles like "Lollypop" and "A Milli." In the time since its release, the album has sold over three million copies, granting it triple platinum status.

The advertisement for the upcoming Lil Weezyana Fest makes special mention of the anniversary, so there's no doubt that Wayne has something special planned, or at the very least, will rap a majority of the album at the show. So far there's no news of any other featured acts, but those usually come later. Last year's Lil Weezyana Fest was headlined by Wayne and Gucci Mane, and also featured NBA Youngboy, Rich the Kid, and Kodie Shane.
