Donald Trump Holds Card Reminding Him To Tell Shooting Victims "I Hear You"

Donald Trump recently held a listening session with students who survived the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, alongside others who are significantly impacted by gun violence. However, a photograph that has been circling around the Internet has caught the attention of many.

In a close-up image of a handwritten note, which has the White House masthead printed at the top, it is revealed that Trump had prepared some questions and statements to specifically address the concerns he would encounter with this group of people. Some of the questions included "What would you most want me to know about your experience?" and "What can we do to help you feel safe?" While the middle portion of the page remains obscured by his hands, the fifth point simply reads "I hear you."

As always, people took to social media to voice their concerns that the leader of the United States needs a written reminder to be more empathetic towards people who have experienced hardship.

While many have been critical, some have come forth to defend the president. 

Trump reassured those in attendance that "some of your suggestions, I’ve heard some of them. We’re going to do something about this horrible situation that’s going on. I want to listen. And then after I listen, we’re going to get things done. I was born into a world where I never got to experience safety and peace. There needs to be a significant change in this country. This has to never happen again."
