The Ear Drummers family expands with the addition of Rico Pressley, who has already proven himself to be an eccentric voice among a cast of already eccentric characters. Taking to introductory cut "Socialite" with a helium-induced delivery, the off-kilter Georgia rapper wasted little time in separating himself from the pack; while some may be put off by his stylistic choices, others may find the experimental nature of his vocals refreshing. Especially in a time where many rappers tend to employ the same stylistic properties time and time again.
Now, he's back with another one for the traditionalists, at least, relatively speaking. "I.F.W.I", or "I Fuck Wit It" for those acronym-fearing folk, finds Rico spitting bars with his regular cadence. Taking to the swirling pianos, Pressley does borrow a few hip-hop thematic favorites, from the recent love of VVS diamonds to simply lustful debauchery. Still, he does so with an undeniable joie de vivre. Perhaps we could all stand to learn a little something from Mike Will's latest protégé.
Quotable Lyrics
Ain't got no time for no bigotry
Still eat the chicken rotissery
I see the vision real vividly
All of you n***as my Mini-Mes
