The wisdom of TIP is the gift that keeps on giving. The rapper slash actor has been providing commentary on current affairs for a minute now, and for whatever reason, his opinion has become one of the most appreciated in the game. Whether he's weighing in on Raven Symone's write-off of rap-moguls, or breaking down his reasoning for avoiding a Lonzo Ball collaboration, Tip's reflections are always entertaining and insightful. Today, T.I. spoke with TMZ about the recent tragedy in Florida, which claimed the lives of seventeen students and teachers. Naturally, the gun control debate was brought up, and T.I had plenty of thoughts on the topic.
While many rappers seem to lean left on the political spectrum, T.I.'s stance on gun control seemed to echo that of several prominent Republicans. "You should probably make it more difficult for people who aren't mentally stable to have guns," he explains. "I just honestly feel that if you lose the right to bear arms are a citizen, you know what I'm sayin, it's easy to enslave. It's easy for the government to enslave people when they don't have the right to bear arms."
While Tiny posts up in the background, T.I. continues his train of thought. "People think that the felons are the ones causing all of the problems," he ponders. "But it seems as if people given gun licenses, who bought guns legally are the ones causing all the mass hysterias. Our system is broken." The conversation concludes when the cameraman asks Tip whether or not automatic weapons should be banned. Tip can't help but laugh - after all, he previously did some prison time over gun charges.
