Philadelphia 76ers 7'0 center Joel Embiid got into a skirmish with Boston Celtics point guard Terry Rozier during the Sixers' 103-92 win last night, resulting in technical fouls for both players. Although, Embiid doesn't think he did anything that warranted a "T."
Following Game 4, in which Embiid recorded his sixth straight double-double with 15 points & 13 rebounds, he spoke about his interaction with Rozier and joked that the 6'2 guard was "so short" that he couldn't get to his face.
"He kept the ball away from me and tried to punch me twice," Embiid said Monday night following Philadelphia's Game 4 win over Boston. "Too bad he's so short that he couldn't get to my face."
"I didn't understand why it was a double-technical because I was just trying to get the ball and he was the one trying to swing," Embiid said.
Rozier also spoke about that moment during the second quarter, telling reporters that he's not worried about any man on this Earth. "To set the record straight, I wake up every morning not worried about nobody, no man on this earth," Rozier said. "We were out there having fun. It's just part of a basketball game. That's all it is."
The Sixers avoided elimination last night but they still trail 3-1 as the series shifts back to the TD Garden in Boston for Game 5 on Wednesday night.
