With the big budgets of Hollywood success, there isn't much the studio can do if the film is poorly received. Sometimes, reshoots take place, but it's never a good sign for fans. After the huge hit Deadpool was, Fox couldn't mess up the sequel. However, when fans caught wind that Deadpool 2 is doing reshoots, they took the news for the worse.
Last week, Josh Brolin, who stars as Cable confirmed that the highly-anticipated sequel was doing reshoots in Vancouver. A report from Collider's Steven Weintraub says the reshoots aren't because the film performed poorly in test screenings; it's because it was so great. In January, they did the first test screening where it's scored, I heard, like a 90, 91. And then they did another screening based on editing the movie after getting notes back. The crowd sees it, right, the studio looks at, it they make changes" Weintraub revealed. "So the second screening happened and … I heard it scored much higher, a high 90, and then what happened was both crowds at these screenings said they love Josh Brolin as Cable, they loved Domino, but that they would like to see more of both characters in the movie."
This news is said to come from multiple sources. If it's true, you can expect to see more of Josh Brolin's Cable and Zazie Beetz's Domino. The reshoots should be quick, considering the movie will hit theaters shortly, on May 18th.
