Well look it here. Jay Electronica is taking his talents on the road. On Tuesday night, the New Orleans rapper hopped on Instagram and announced that he’s embarking on a 8-city North American tour.
“To quote the great PARTYNEXTDOOR... 'Come and see meeee for once,” Jay Electronica captioned the post while sharing the dates.
The untitled tour will kick off next week on February 1 in Chicago and will make stops in Detroit, Toronto, Philadelphia, and Atlanta before wrapping things up in his hometown of New Orleans on March 10th.
The Roc Nation rapper has been teasing his long awaited debut album Act II: Patents of Nobility (The Turn) for years now, but there’s no word if or when we’ll ever get it. In fact, during an interview with Billboard last year, Jay Elect addressed the album’s delay, and said he’ll release the album when he’s fully happy with it.
“When it’s ready, when it’s ready. It don’t matter if Donald Trump say, ‘Put the album out,’” he explained. “[...] But I guess the question you asked me is what will it take. When it’s finished. When it’s something that I’m pleased with because regardless of the six billion people on planet Earth, even if I put something out and the whole six billion say it’s absolutely beautiful and I don’t feel OK with it, I’m the one that carries that. I have to be at a place where I’m pleased with the offering. So, it will come—it’s coming soon.”
