XXXTentacion has had a tumultuous time closing out 2017, to say the least. After being hit with several federal charges related to witness tampering, the young rapper has managed to avoid jail time and is currently living under what was previously reported as very strict house arrest conditions. However, he's certainly free enough to be interacting with his fans on social media, which is exactly what he did earlier today, providing those interested with a short Instagram live video heavy on the words of inspiration.
As you can see from the above video, XXXTentacion was seated in a moving car, perhaps being driven to and/or from the recording studio, which he is allowed to visit under the provisions made by the judge for the house arrest. During the live video session, the emcee passed on some crucial words of advice to his followers, one of which was simple: be yourself.
"Do not live your life trying to impress someone else," he said. "Do not live your life trying to be someone you're not." Later on in the video, he lamented the glorification of violence and anger, saying that he wanted 2018 to be the year where it will be cool to be a good person once again. "I'm tired of it being cool to be a f**king murderer or a shooter," he continued. "That s**t is stupid."
There may be a tinge of irony for those watching him say such words, given the fact that his history of domestic abuse and violent outbursts have continued to be an albatross he cannot get off his back. Hopefully 2018 will be the year this rapper turns a corner, in terms of his personal conduct, as well.
What do you think of XXX's words of advice? Solid or not so much? Sound off in the comments.
