While the term underrated tends to bounce around from time to time, it feels like Freddie Gibbs can make a case for being the game's most universally slept on. When you hear conversations about the game's best flow, it's surprising how few people count out Gangsta Gibbs. That's simply one of the many departments he remains qualified for, yet overlooked nevertheless. Regardless, the stalwart rapper has continuously dropped off fire like clockwork, including last year's You Only Live 2wice and this year's Freddie. Now, Gibbs has returned with a new loosie, produced by Atlanta-based production duo The Colleagues.
The single is not exactly new territory for Gibbs, who takes to the hazy trap instrumental with a double-time flow. "I still rap with that pot jumping out the speaker," raps Gibbs, "bout to hop in that pack moving Micheal Keaton." Gibbs never fails to paint a vivid picture of the pusher's lifestyle, and we can only hope he comes through with ever deeper world-building on the upcoming Bandana 2.
Quotable Lyrics
I still rap with that pot jumping out the speaker
Bout to hop in that pack moving Micheal Keaton
In the Jeep just like Nino my brother's keeper
Beat the case tell them crackas I'm undefeated
