If you're reading this, it probably means that you're aware of the glorious EarthGang. The Atlanta duo have already garnered comparisons to an old-school OutKast, with many calling them some of hip-hop's best rising lyricists. Basically, if you're not keen on the gems of Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot, you should probably familiarize yourself. Especially if you're one of those people decrying the death of lyrical hip-hop. I digress. Late in 2017, the duo announced they would be dropping a trilogy of EPs, that when played in order would make up one cohesive "deconstructed album." In September, the first chapter Rags dropped, followed by Robots in October.
Now, the final chapter Royalty is upon us, with a promised January release. And since the first month of the year is coming to an end, it stands to reason that we'll be getting the EP sooner than later. Today, the duo released the project's official album artwork, picking up where its two predecessors left off. Yes, the cover features a return of the thong-clad ass, but more importantly, it features an animalistic depiction of Dreamville founder J. Cole. The Forest Hills Drive rapper is depicted her as a half-man, half-lion hybrid, perhaps hinting that their label boss will be appearing on the project.
Check out the artwork below, which features a staggering amount of detail. Be sure to stay tuned for more news on EarthGang's Royalty - as they say, people often save the best for last.
