2017 was a busy year for Skepta. The UK rapper kept things on lock with his Vicious EP, which featured guest appearances from Lil B, Section Boyz, A$AP Rocky and A$AP Nast. Prior, Skepta managed to beat out Radiohead and others for the prestigious Mercury Prize, which was awarded to his 2016 album Konnichiwa. Needless to say, the man's talents should be respected. As such, his name has gone on to carry weight in North American markets, who may otherwise neglect overseas talent. Now, it would appear that Skepta will be returning to the fold, and has decided to come through with a new single.
Luckily, Skepta will be foregoing the traditional Thursday release route, instead opting to drop at midnight tonight. Therefore, should you find yourself awake, be sure to keep a watchful eye out for Skepta's "Pure Water." Generally, the arrival of a single tends to signify a larger body of work on the horizon, which bodes well for all ya'll Grime fans in the mix.
With the aquatic theme on deck, one can only hope for a Mick Jenkins remix. Peep the officially announcement below, courtesy of Skepta's Twitter. Are ya'll checking for this one, or nah?
