Now that Nicki Minaj is no longer in hiding, she seems to be making the absolute most of her time as she has not only announced her two singles coming today in "Chun-Li" and "Barbie Tingz," there have also been strong rumors of a collaboration with Young Thug. The rumors gained traction when the pair of artists tweeted the number "3" before Thugger confirmed the news by previewing the track on Instagram. Now, we have a name, release date and artwork for the song and we will be able to listen to it very soon.
With her two songs premiering on Beats 1 Radio at 1 PM EST today, Nicki also took to her Instagram to announce that Young Thug's track "Anybody" will feature her and will also debut later today. Although it is unlikely that "Anybody" will coincide with the afternoon releases of "Chun-Li" and "Barbie Tingz," this is set to be Thugger's first officially released cut of the year. While we have been treated to Jeffery's features, several leaks and a track on Cash Money's documentary soundtrack, Thug has been relatively quiet this year given the output we've become used to from the superstar. With a "slime" themed single cover, this is the latest hint that we may be receiving a full Thugger project in the near future.
While he had previously said that he would not be releasing any new music this year to honor his brother who is deaf and mute, it seems as though the Slime Season rapper has gone back on his word. We're sure he'll come up with another way to tribute his brother.
