RIP Matt Dike.

Iconic co-founder of Delicious Vinyl, Matt Dike, has passed away. The unfortunate news comes just after the passing of Craig Mack, as the hip-hop world continues to mourn the loss of yet another generational talent. Delicious Vinyl is a Los Angeles-based indie record label housing artists like Casey Veggies, Dom Kennedy, The Pharcyde, J Dilla, Young MC and more. The label was co-founded by Matt Dike in 1987 as he went on to produce hits for Tone-Loc and Young MC. Dike notably had a hand in the making of Tone-Loc's "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina," as well as Young MC's "Bust A Move." All three of those tracks were immensely successful, selling over a million copies.

A-Trak and Questlove have reacted to the news on their Twitter pages, shouting out the Delicious Vinyl co-founder with heartfelt messages of support to his friends and family. His accomplishments include influencing the sound of Paul's Boutique by the Beastie Boys, which was actually recorded in Matt Dike's apartment. Having been a large part of the development of hip-hop, we celebrate his life and the achievements he made in furthering the extent of rap music's reach.

RIP Matt Dike.
