The past few years have been huge for Solange and have simultaneously kept her incredibly busy. After dropping A Seat At The Table in September 2016, she became one of the biggest forces in R&B and soul. The impact of the project helped her launch a series of residencies in New York City and Boston. Unfortunately, she revealed that she had to cancel an upcoming performance in South Africa for her AfroPunk New Years Eve performance.
Solange took to Instagram to share some unfortunate news about her health. The revered singer and artist announced that she was diagnosed with an Autonomic Disorder and has been trying to work through and treat it over the past five months. Due to her health issues, she revealed that she'll have to cancel her Afro Punk performance this Sunday for New Years Eve.
"It’s a complicated diagnoses , and I’m still learning so much myself, but right now, my doctors are not clearing me for such an extended lengthy flight, and doing a rigorous show right after." She wrote, "there is simply no other place I wanted to be than there with my family to bring in 2018 with you.......but I give you my ABSOLUTE WORD I will come back with AfroPunk and deliver this performance"
She later thanked AfroPunk and all the other festivals she's been working with over the summer and fall seasons for keeping her health issues confidential.
