"I plan on coming back next season."

After 20 seasons in the NBA, Vince Carter isn't done just quite yet.

Carter, 41, explained his mindset in the final entry of his season-long diary with The Undefeated's Marc J. Spears, saying that he plans to return for a 21st season which will probably be his last.

"I plan on coming back next season," he said. "I plan on coming back one more season. I'm almost 90 percent sure that's it after next season."

"You kind of go through the season, especially when the end is near and you say, 'Hey, how do I feel?' […]

"Is Sacramento a possibility? Or how am I looking at free agency. I don't know. I stay in my lane."

This year with the Kings, VC averaged a career-low 5.3 points per game in 17.6 minutes a night, but he had his shining moment of the season on December 27th when he racked up 24 points, five rebounds and three assists in a 109-95 victory over the Cleveland Cavs. He will be an unrestricted free agent this Summer and it's unclear whether he'll return as a veteran presence for the Kings, or possibly go north of the border to finish his career where it all started with the Toronto Raptors.

The Kings will host the Western Conference-leading Houston Rockets in tonight's regular season finale, bringing to a close another season that will see the Kings in the NBA Draft lottery.
