Fresh off the release of his highly anticipated debut album Victory Lap, which featured Kendrick Lamar, YG, Diddy, The-Dream & more, West Coast rapper Nipsey Hussle decided to make his way out East this week to NYC and stop by various media outlets to promote the new album. Along with visits to The Breakfast Club and Sway in the Morning, Nipsey decided to make a pit stop at MTV’s TRL on Tuesday and serve as the show’s musical guest.
Backed by his DJ & some red & blue flashing lights, Neighborhood Nip decided to perform his YG-assisted song “Last Time That I Checc’d” live for the crowd on set. Unfortunately though YG wasn’t there to help Nip with the performance, but that doesn’t take anything away from it.
Following his performance, Nipsey sat down with TRL host DC Young Fly and special guest Ludacris and talked about his new album, his favorite song off it “Blue Laces 2,” touring with Kendrick Lamar & The Game earlier in his career, and more.
If you missed it earlier, we got you covered. Check out the performance (below) and be sure to revisit the rest of the project right here on HNHH if you've been sleeping on it. (Included below is Nipsey’s sit-down interview on TRL as well.)
