Taylor Bennett debuts his new single “Rock 'N' Roll” with a music video. The track is a taste from his upcoming EP Be Yourself. This comes after the release of the project’s title track, which features Bianca Shaw. His second single’s visuals have a melancholic feel. The hazy grain mixed with the pastel shades, found in each shot framed in rounded corners, coalesce from a retro mood board. Bright acrylic nails, gum popping on sidewalks, rotary phones and yellow plaid a la Clueless, enhance this vintage effect.
The storyline is a fresh take on the Bonnie and Clyde narrative. Bennet’s production adds humor to the ride-or-die action. Watch the rapper get caught by a cop after being hell back by gum stuck to his shoe. The whole is as well-crafted as the CEO BEATZ instrumental production. The rolling credits that conclude the video are worth watching, for real.
Be Yourself will be released on July 12.
