In a new interview with Karen Civil, Future discussed new music, his plans for the remainder of the year and his absence at this year's Summer Jam XX festival.
It was recently revealed that the Atlanta emcee would be accompanying Miguel and Drake on the "Would You Like A Tour" tour across the country in the fall. "This is my first national tour," he said. "I've been asked to go on tour several times, [but] I just felt like the timing wasn't right." He recently made the decision to back out of Lil Wayne's "America's Most Wanted Tour."
As for his decision not perform at Summer Jam this year, his explanation was simple: "On Summer Jam, they only give you a certain time," he said. "They said they only going to give you 20 minutes, when you know the fans want more from you. They expect more from you." Fair enough.
Future also explained the motivation behind his new single "Sh1t." "It's been a year of going up, so I just want to keep the level of anticipation and energy, everything right. The momentum right. So I just dropped the song... I'm just going to keep dropping single after single before I put the album out so everybody can get the complete picture."
The ATLien also confirmed a November release for his Future Hendrix album.
