I might receive criticism for saying this, but when Curren$y raps lethargically his output suffers. But on the flip side, when he's fully-energized we're looking at a completely different rapper. The Curren$y I solemnly thought would never buy a lemon off the lot is version we see here captivated by 808Mafia production. Indeed the subject line remains the same, but that was never the crux of any problem surrounding his output.
"Last Night" is Curren$y understand what works best for his unorthodox delivery, this time around a hypnotic string arrangement strewn together by Fuse, himself a prodigy of Southside, the legendary Atlanta producer who continues to vet numerous acts associated with Gucci Mane's 1017 label.
Listen to "Last Night" as Curren$y throws caution to wind. Who other than Spitta would throw a pleasant surprise out his master bedroom, knowing the best part of his day lies ahead.
Quotable Lyrics:
Last night we pulled up and took all the hoes
Paper and Pistols
Snakes and real n*****
All in the picture.
Still got my first Bentley
Been on since the beginning
Every piece that I've been getting
Only make me want more.
