Michael Rapaport insists it's only a matter of time before a documentary about The Roots goes into production.

Following the success of Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest, Michael Rapaport has positioned himself for other hip hop-oriented projects. In conversation with XXL, Rapaport opened up about the influence hip hop has played its in life. His documentary about the lifespan of A Tribe Called Quest has granted him special permissions within the hip hop community, opportunities he seems intent on cashing in.

During the interview, Rapaport strongly defended his case against the perils of indifference across generations of hip hop fans and historians, explaining in theoretical terms, what set him off during his public row with Lil Xan.

With reference to a film being made about Philadelphia Rap supergroup The Roots, Rapaport had the following to say:

"Yeah, I’ve had conversations with Questlove, I know I’ve said it to Black Thought. It’s just a matter of... they’re a moving entity. They’re busy. I tend to get busy. We’d just have to lock and load and just say, “We’re doing it.” Then start. When you’re making a documentary, you cant really think it through too much—you’re going to get overwhelmed by the bigness of it. You just gotta be like, “You down? Let’s go.”

Rapaport certainly has the industry connects to make it happen. We can only wait with bated breath for this movie wish to come true.
