Rihanna's cousin has sadly passed away just hours after hanging out together on Christmas.

It's safe to say Rihanna is ready for this day (Dec. 26th) to be over. Just hours after revealing that she’s been “sick as fuck,” the pop superstar has announced the unfortunate news that her cousin, who she had been with just hours earlier on Christmas, has sadly passed away presumably to a gun shot wound.

Announced on Instagram, RiRi shared a photo of the two, while saying she never thought last night would’ve been the last time she saw him.

“RIP cousin... can't believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms! never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man! 😢🙏🏿❤ #endgunviolence,” she captioned the IG post.

The details surrounding the death is unknown at this time, but it’s pretty clear by the hashtag #endgunviolence that he was gunned down somehow. Whether he was targeted or simply at the wrong place at the wrong time is again unknown, but regardless this is some horribly tragic news for Rihanna and her family during this Holiday season.

Last week, Rihanna gave back to the community of Nickerson Gardens, California for the Holidays by performing at TDE's 4th annual Toy Drive, where she joined Kendrick Lamar on stage for a special performance of "Loyalty" live for the very first time.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to Riri during this difficult time. #StayStrongRihanna
