Ilham's new song, "Last Night" is a back-and-forth exploration of paranoia and indecision, starting the song by saying she knew what she wanted, but that was "last night" and continuing with "I see your insecurity rising." Dave East's verse is a chiller counterpoint. As he raps it: "she insecure but I ain't stressing that."
The new song is Ilham's first since an EP that released earlier this year called 41-10. The 20-year-old Queensbridge singer is a graduate of Cornell University and likely linked up with Dave East somewhere in the city from which they both hail: New York.
Dave East also announced a new mixtape, Karma 2, yesterday. It will be a sequel to 2017's Karma, which earned East a devoted following to this day. The tape will include features from Fabolous, Gunna, Bloccboy JB and Kool G Rap and will release on July 20th. If you really can't wait for the tape, watch the seconds count down to its release here.
