Black Panther is the most successful superhero movie of all time. The spectacular Marvel film is still enjoying a very lucrative theatrical run, even though it premiered almost two months ago.
Although Avengers: Infinity War will undoubtedly take that title away from Black Panther later this month, the official Blu-Ray release of the film will help the Ryan Coogler flick rake in even more millions upon millions of dollars in revenue. Marvel has announced that the film will be available on May 8 digitally, and a 4K Blu-Ray/DVD release will follow on May 15.
The Blu-Ray will feature a mountain of extras, including deleted scenes and a gag reel. According to Complex, the Blu-Ray's deleted scenes are entitled: "T'Challa Remembers His Father," "U.N. Meet and Greet," "Okoye and W'Kabi Discuss the Future of Wakanda," and "Voices from the Past."
Other extras included in the Blu-Ray will be a Ryan Coogler commentary, a featurette on the warrior women of Wakanda, Wakandan tourism commercials and ads, a breakdown of Wakandan technology, a roundtable discussion on the creation of the movie, and a discussion panel based on Marvel Studios' first decade of films entitled "Connecting the Universe." A sneak peek at Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp, which hits theaters July 6, is also included.
