A 16-year-old boy opened fire at Italy High School in Texas this morning, where a female student was wounded and airlifted to the hospital, CBS News reports.
The publication reports that the suspect shot at the young girl in the school cafeteria and then fled the scene. He has since been taken into custody and no other injuries have been reported. Superintendent of Schools, Lee Joffre, told reporters at a press conference that the motive for the shooting is unknown at this time as well as the condition of the 15-year-old victim.
The latest news from the shooting is that the school district is looking to contact both the victim and the suspect's parents for further information. We'll keep you guys updated with more information as it comes in.
