Introducing the "PS2" PG2.

Nike and Paul George have officially unveiled the Nike PG2, the second signature sneaker of the Thunder's All-Star forward. George debuted the kicks during OKC's win over the Cavs this weekend, and now Nike has revealed specific details about the kicks, as well as the first colorway that will hit retailers.

According to Nike, while the PG1 featured bootie construction and a prominent forefoot strap, the design of the PG2 favors a more traditional tongue construction. However, Paul George still wanted a tight lockdown to be a staple of his line, so Tony Hardman, the designer of the PG1 and PG2, developed what he calls “dynamic wings” at the forefoot. While this offers the same level of lockdown as the prior system, the new aesthetic improves the overall fit.

The PG2 ($110) will make its retail debut on February 10th in a Playstation 2 inspired colorway, as a nod to George's love for video games.

“I just had a knack for video games,” George explains. “As soon as I discovered PlayStation, I was throwing hints here and there to my dad — cutting out the clipping of a video game, cutting out the clippings of the PlayStation, leaving it on his dresser. I remember on Christmas morning, I unwrapped my gift and sure enough, it was the PS2. I've been a PlayStation guy ever since.”

The collaboration, worked on with Playstation officials, features several nods to the console. Wrapped around around the heel of the shoe is a dynamic winged support overlay bearing a graphic print inspired by Playstation controller buttons. Logos on the tongues actually light up and the starry print associated with the sneaker will be available as a theme for the Playstation 4 using a code from the shoe.
