OFWGKTA's Tyler, The Creator exclusively opens up on his last album drop.

Tyler, The Creator's introspective and rather deep album Scum Fuck Flower Boy is nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album of the year. Although it's in the rap category, Tyler recently revealed that the project came together based on a lot of pop inspirations studying the work of Justin Timberlake and more.

Tyler told his interviewer, comedian Jerrod Carmichael, that he went to clubs with his homie Taco as a way to study what reactions other club goers had when different beats dropped and songs took over the speakers. The "Who Dat Boy" rapper says in the video below that his previous project release, Cherry Bomb was not at all personal but for Flower Boy things were different.

"For Cherry Bomb, I purposely was like 'I don't wanna get personal at all,' like, 'I'm just gonna make songs,'" Tyler admits. "And in this, I was like, 'Alright, let me write down every feeling.'"

He adds: "I'm not depressed at all. A lot of people mix up depression with self-awareness. Like someone's like, 'Dude, this album's depressing,' and I'm like 'No, I never said I was depressed.' I'm lonely, but I'm having the most fun of my goddamn life."

The 26-year-old also reveals that the album's single "911/Mr. Lonely" had 25 different versions before its final completion. Check out the full, hour-long interview below directed by Wolf Haley.
