When a video of Florida rapper XXXTentacion sucker punching a woman in the head surfaced online, there was a deserved revulsion among the public as well as X's fans rushing to defend him and the contents of the video. While this seemed like a major controversy at the time, it did very little to affect him professionally, as he still managed to premiere at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his most recent album, ?.
X evidently still wishes to defend himself, as TMZ has reported that he's suing the woman he punched in the video for fraud and defamation of character.
According to the suit, X claims that the woman's grandparents offered to sell the woman's silence for $300 thousand, and that X had thrown a BB gun at the woman's face prior to the video. He also alleges that the woman was threatening to hold a press conference, exposing him as an abuser of women. He claims that she was lying when she said that she didn't want to leak the video because she feared for her life, and that he only "tapped the back of her head."
From watching the video, the blow appears to be more than a tap, but X seems to think that he has a case against the woman, so we'll have to wait and see who comes out on top.
