Lil Wayne's Young Money APAA Sports & Entertainment has been picking up some real talent lately. First they draft one of the top running backs in the upcoming NFL draft, and now they've nabbed another potential draft front runner: Victoria Vivians, a guard that helped her team, the Mississippi State Bulldogs, to the championship round of the most recent NCAA Women's basketball tournament.
Wayne took to Instagram for the announcement, writing, "Welkome to the fam @victoriavivians!!Y'all go follow her and show her love!!#ViviansVoyage2TheWNBA #V3 #YoungMoneyAPAA." Victoria was also very excited about the announcement, writing in her own post, "#KeepWatching we're about to make history together! Face of Young Money APAA Sports and Entertainment Women's Basketball Division!"
That's quite a honor for a player fresh out of university, but Vivians looks ready to prove herself worthy. The announcement comes just two days before the upcoming 2018 WNBA draft, where Vivians could potentially be a first round pick. While analysts are expecting South Carolina's A'Ja Wilson to be the first pick, Vivians size and shooting ability could make her a valuable prospect for some teams.
Young Money Sports seems to be expanding rapidly, with boxers, football players, and now a representative for women's basketball. It remains to be seen how Wayne's new pick ups will perform in the draft, and even still in the league, but there aren't too many rappers out there who can say that they have their own sports roster.
