Kamaiyah has been teasing her ScHoolboy Q and DJ Mustard collaboration "Addicted To Ballin" since January, but she's held on to it for a summer release. Today, the Oakland rapper has announced the single will arrive on June 8th, previewing a clip from the song and revealing the stylish artwork on Twitter.
"I'm addicted to ballin/I have to get my cash/The money is callin'/Got bands, got bands, got bands/I'm addicted to ballin'/I have to get me ends/I bull up in my Benz/Flexin' countin my bands," she raps on the hook. While Mustard has been widening his production scope, the track finds him reaching back to his classic West Coast bounce, a sound familiar to both Kamaiyah and Q.
Kamaiyah released her Before I Wake project at the tail end of 2017, making it one of the most underrated projects of the year. Prior to that, she released A Good Night In The Ghetto.
"I know y’all didn’t think the summer was coming and I wasn’t about to come out and play," she wrote on Twitter, hinting that "Ballin," may not be her only release in the coming months. Listen to a clip from ScHoolboy Q's verse on the song here.
