An alleged affiliate of Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang crew, and one other man have been arrested in connection with the carjacking and stabbing of Pittsburgh Steeler offensive lineman Mike Adams.
Early Saturday morning, Pittsburgh Steeler's second year offensive linemen Mike Adams was stabbed in an attempted carjacking incident that took place in Pittsburgh. Adams was leaving a restaurant on the city's Southside around 3:00 A.M. when three men approached him in what is believed an attempted robbery and carjacking. While refusing to to give in, Mike Adams was punched and stabbed by the attackers who were carrying a knife and a gun. He was expected to be battling for the starting position this season but will now be sidelined for several months.
Today, Pittsburgh Police have announced they have arrested two out of the three men, with one of those two being 26 year old rapper Quay Meanz. Quay is a self-proclaimed affiliate of Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang crew. Quay appeared on Taylor Gang's recent mixtape Taylor Gang Over Everything 2, which dropped in January. He also released a solo project titled Speakers and Franklins back in 2011.
Police are still looking for the third suspect. Preliminary hearings for both suspects are scheduled for June 12th and 13th. Pictures above show Quay with his Taylor Gang family. [Via]
[Update: Quay Meanz Confirmed As Taylor Gang Artist, Was Not Assailant That Stabbed Adams]
The Pittsburgh Post Gazette is reporting new information on the Quay Meanz case. The paper confirms that Meanz had recently signed a deal with Taylor Gang Records, and can even be seen in Wiz Khalifa's video for "Black & Yellow", which is ironic considering the song was used as the anthem for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the NFL team Mike Adams plays for.
Adams was released from hospital yesterday, after undergoing multiple surgeries stemming from lacerations to his colon and forearm.
Meanz was arrested after being identified by Adams, and will face charges for aggravated assault, conspiracy and attempted homicide.
It has also been revealed that Meanz was not actually the assailant that inflicted the wounds, the third suspect who is responsible has not yet been identified or brought into custody.
Police reports indicate that Meanz told Adams "I want your car or I'll shoot you in the face and kill you in front of everyone," after the NFL star initially refused to give up his vehicle.
Means' criminal record includes charges of receiving stolen property, drug possession, fleeing police and disorderly conduct. His previous felony conviction means that he is not legally allowed to own a gun.
A representative for Wiz Khalifa offered no response when asked for comment.
