"Wrist" remains a classic collaboration between Makonnen and KEY! (and of course, Father), and the two Atlanta innovators have reunited on Makonnen's new project for a track called "Twenty's On Tha Flo." The track finds Makonnen returning to his off-kilter blend of Atlanta trap and bedroom pop, and KEY! embraces it entirely, belting out some melodies that take him out of his usual pocket and let him fully explore his range. Meanwhile, Makonnen sounds content in his unique world, a place that's still far from being fully explored and is nice to revisit for fans who have been following through the Drink More Water series. Makonnen's influence is already being felt throughout the new generation, but he's still growing as a songwriter himself, and ILOVEAMERICA is a promising step forward that shows his creative energy continues to burn bright. Listen to the full thing here. Meanwhile, KEY! is fresh off his 777 album with Kenny Beats, one of the strongest rap projects of the year so far.
Quotable Lyrics:
With them rims
Got them things runnin' super clean
God damnit, we could pull up on any scene
Valet this motherfucker
Bitch, it's two-tone
God damnit, car smellin' like too grown
