Prior to the NBA's annual Celebrity All-Star Game, Jamie Foxx walked out on an interview with ESPN's Michael Smith, after Smith posed a question about Foxx's rumored girlfriend, actress Katie Holmes.
Smith prepped the question by saying, "I know you prepared, because I saw pictures" before adding, "Did you and Katie Holmes play basketball for Valentine's Day? Like some real 'Love and Basketball?'" It was a relatively harmless question, and there were photos that showed the two hitting the basketball court together, but Foxx was clearly unwilling to discuss his personal love life on the air.
In case you missed it, here was Foxx's response to the question about Holmes.
According to TMZ Sports, Smith's former co-host, Jemele Hill, thought the way Foxx acted was both unnecessary and bizarre.
"I thought he unnecessarily made Mike look bad."
"I thought it was kind of bizarre why he acted that way ... like I thought [Jamie's relationship with Katie] was pretty public and that everybody knew, but apparently everybody doesn't know."
Hill's run as SportsCenter co-host ended early this month after she decided to pursue an opportunity with The Undefeated, a sports and pop culture website owned and operated by ESPN. Smith now hosts the show by himself.
