Instagram will be rolling out some new updates on Tuesday, with the most newsworthy being a brand new portrait mode feature called Focus for individuals using older devices. This is the popular social media app's rendition of a similar function that has now become a part of the newest editions of smartphones that have entered the market recently, but they are giving others a chance to create vibrant photos/videos who aren't up-to-date with technology.
The company notes that Focus can be found next to the superzoom setting under the record button, revealing how "as soon as there’s someone in the shot, you’ll notice the person stays in focus while the background softly blurs. Simply tap to take a photo or tap and hold to record a video."
Additionally, people will now be able to tag another individual in their story via a sticker. iOS users will now be able to select a "@mention" sticker in their sticker tray.
Focus will be available for the iPhone 6S and select Android smartphones.
