The Golden State Warriors were scheduled to have practice today, but that was before the team, coaches included, went out in celebration of Stephen Curry's 30th birthday. After seeing the footage from last night's celebration, it should come as no surprise that the Warriors have just decided to cancel today's practice altogether.
Curry, Klay Thompson, Steve Kerr and others all got plenty of cardio in on the dance floor last night so it's only right that they have a day of recovery before tomorrow night's game against the Los Angeles Lakers at Oracle Arena.
Golden State clinched last night thanks to the San Antonio Spurs' 109-93 win over the Houston Rockets. Currently, the Warriors are sitting in second place in the Western Conference with a 51-16 record, just two games back of the Rockets, who hold the tiebreaker between the teams, having won the season series 2-1.
Curry, who officially turns 30 tomorrow, has sat out the last two games due to an ankle injury, though the team insists it's "nothing major." It's unclear if he'll be suiting up against the Lakers.
