The tail end of 2017 marked a string of loose releases from Joey Bada$$ following a season anchored by his All AmeriKKKan Bada$$ full-length release earlier in the year. As 2018 got underway, the Brooklyn-bred emcee dropped off his well-received "King to A God" single alongside fellow Pro Era member Dessy Hinds, and it seems that Joey already has a few more major tricks up his sleeves for the new year, including a collaborative tape with none other than XXXTentacion.
It was by way of an Instagram post that both Joey and X revealed the snippet of news as the former uploaded a screenshot of a post originally posted by the latter that read, "xxxtentacion x joey badass" and "Collaboration Tape." Joey would supplement the post with a caption reading, "LETSGOOOOO @xxxtentacion."
This news comes as the latest in a slew of announcements contradicting XXXTentacion's original decision to stop making music back in 2017. December marked the end to that brief drought when he dropped off his Ghetto Christmas Carol EP. He'd go on to state that he'd be delivering 3 more projects throughout the duration of 2018. As for Joey, outside of the music the Flatbush spitter revealed that he would be getting his feet wet in the realm of podcasts as he has a new show in the works with TIDAL's "On Air" podcast network.
Given both artists' respective places on the spectrum of hip-hop torchbearers, this collaboration should be interesting to say the very least.
