New studies reveal that YouTube, which is owned by Google, is the most omnipotent internet platform among American teenagers, while Facebook continues to experience declining usage rates.
Pew Research Center conducted the survey in the spring of 2018, which also reveals how the proportion of teenagers who admit that they're online "almost constantly" has nearly doubled since a similar study on the subject in 2014-15. Nearly 45% of all participants have acknowledged that they spend an abundance of time browsing the internet and its various sources of entertainment, news, and other findings.
YouTube effectively leads the pack, as 85% of Generation Z frequent the video-sharing platform, which is closely followed by Instagram (72%), Snapchat (69%), Facebook (51%) and Twitter (32%).
However, 35% of teenagers admit that they use Snapchat the most often, while YouTube comes in second at 32%.
