"WrestleMania 34" Shatters WWE Streaming Records

WrestleMania 34 was the biggest event that the WWE has broadcasted in years. The event was so successful in fact, that the WWE released their record-breaking WWE Network streaming service numbers just a day after the event concluded. According to the WWE's corporate press release, the streaming site garnered 2.12 million total subscribers following WrestleMania 34.

In a statement regarding the record-shattering numbers, WWE Co-President George Barrios said, “We expect to deliver record subscriber levels, revenue and Adjusted OIBDA in 2018. WWE Network’s continued growth along with our massive reach across traditional television as well as digital and social platforms, reaffirms the effectiveness of our global, multi-platform content strategy."

The WWE Network has both paid and unpaid subscribers. Paid subscribers reached 1.77 million people after the event, which is an eight percent increase from April 2017 ( or the day after WrestleMania 33). WrestleMania 34, and the events surrounding the brawl, also accumulated $14.1 million at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. That is the highest grossing entertainment event the arena has ever held. The sold-out crowd of 78,133 people held WWE fans from every single state, as well as over 65 different countries.

WWE Network subscribers watched over 25 million hours of mayhem during the week-long WrestleMania 34 coverage. That averages to about 14 hours per subscriber.
