It's been a minute since we've seen so much talent in one picture, yet lo and behold. After appearing together on the closer of the Flatbush Zombies' excellent Vacation In Hell project, Denzel Curry decided to throw up a throwback picture with the talented group. At least, two out of three. In the image, captioned "The Glory" (in honor of the Curry/Flatbush collaboration), Zombie Juice, Meechy Darko, Powers Pleasant, Kirk Knight, and Charlie Heat can be seen posted up, with Denzel standing in as the potential photographer. Clearly, the studio session must have been legendary; as the caption states, it occurred on the same night Denzel recorded "Sumo."
Admittedly, there's not much to see here in terms of actual music, but it's still cool to see this group amassed in one locale. As stated earlier, Flatbush Zombies recently came through with a serious album of the year contender, and while it remains relatively under the radar, the project will inevitably push the group into the spotlight. As for Denzel, fans have been on the lookout for Taboo for a minute, but it appears they might have to wait a little longer. Yesterday, the Florida rapper confirmed plans to drop an "R&B" album before Taboo, teasing his fans to expect the unexpected.
The news may prove frustrating to those eagerly anticipating Curry's full-length, but it's never a bad thing for a creative force to follow his instincts. In the meantime, check out this behind-the-scenes picture of hip-hop history.
