Nike Inc. is looking to return back to a time when Air Jordans were seen as exclusive and highly coveted sneakers.

During Nike's Q2 earnings call on Thursday, president Trevor Edwards spoke about how the demand for Air Jordans has fallen and how sales did not quite meet expectations in the second quarter of Nike Inc.'s fiscal year.

As a result, the brand will once again make iconic Air Jordans style more rare, thus making them harder to purchase which will, in turn, drive up the demand.

Jordan Brand's plans for 2018 reportedly include as many as 30 different classic and original Air Jordan 1 colorways, as well as a handful of Air Jordan 3s including the beloved "Black Cement" and the "Katrina" colorway which has never released. Additionally, Jordan Brand will also be releasing several Air Jordan 11s next year, including the iconic "Concord" colorway and a handful of low-top versions, such as the "Cool Grey."

While the Air Jordan 1s will reportedly remain as the brand's "mainstay model," retros like the Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 11 will certainly fall in that "iconic style" category meaning they'll be much harder to get your hands than in recent years.
