Jay Z To Be First Guest On CNN's "The Van Jones Show"

Jay-Z's been making some high profile appearances since the release of 4:44. The album was not only one of his best pieces in a long time, it also painted an accurate depiction of the current political and societal climate we're currently in. The rapper has appeared in the New York Times, did a lengthy and enlightening video interview on the Rap Radar's podcast alongside B.Dot and Elliot Wilson, now the rapper will be hitting the CNN set for another major appearance.

Hov is set to help launch Van Jones' upcoming show on CNN, "The Van Jones Show" in the coming weeks, according to Variety. Jones said that he wants the show to be help the average person feel comfortable while discussing the current affairs happening in America. He told the website the show is meant to "reflect on where we are and where we are going."

Jay-Z is set to appear help debut the show on January 27th at 7 p.m. on CNN. Jay's appearance is meant to shed light on the activism and themes behind his latest album, 4:44. Jones said that the album is right the line with what the show is about and "is a real social justice classic, and I want to talk to him about that.”

Jay-Z and Jones have been familiar with each other for quite sometime at this point. The two of them know each other through Jay-Z's Roc Nation label which Jones is a client of. 

By the sounds of it, Jones is kicking off his talk show on a high note.
