Lil Peep's death continues to hurt his fans, but now, those who mourn will have a chance to celebrate the young rapper's life. The Come Over When Your Sober rapper died on November 15th, 2017, after overdosing on Xanax that was allegedly laced with Fentanyl. Now, Peep's family and team have announced that there will be a memorial in his honor, set to take place on Saturday, December 2nd. The event will begin at 2:00pm Eastern Time, at the Allegria Hotel in Long Beach, New York.
There is a message on the announcement, which reads: "Join us in celebrating the fascinating colourful life of iconic Gus Ahr (Lil Peep). Light refreshments will be served before the speakers begin at 2Pm. This will be followed by a beach gathering in front of the hotel, and is open to all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oxfam."
If you're a fan, and you happen to be in the area, you might want to consider stopping by for the gathering. It sounds like it will be a serene send-off for an artist who died too young.
In darker news, Lil Peep's death is officially under police investigation. Yesterday, disturbing text messages surfaced between Peep's camp and a young woman who allegedly sold the drugs to Peep. After claiming responsibility for getting the Goth Boy Clique "high AF," she eventually left the conversation, presumably after the overdose.
You might not have liked his music, but you can't deny that Peep's blend of emo and hip-hop spoke to a lot of people. There's no doubt his memory will be remembered, and as of his, Come Over When You're Sober continues to climb the charts.
