Apple has been making major moves as of late. The company announced that iTunes is no longer accepting LP submissions, they're readying a pair of high end over the ear headphones, Apple Music is now worth $10 billion and they are planning to open their own health clinics for their thousands of employees.
The latest news proves that Apple is moving into the entertainment industry as they have ordered 26 episodes from the Bob's Burgers creator, Loren Bouchard. Central Park is labeled as a “new musical animated comedy” that follows a family of caretakers, who live in Central Park, who end up saving the park and the world.
The 26 episodes will be broken into two seasons. This move marks a rare one for 20th Century Fox Television, selling work outside the Fox corporate family. The series will be helmed in the same studio that works on The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad! and Bob’s Burgers, and formerly produced Futurama and King of the Hill.
Apple has yet to unveil a platform for its upcoming content.
