“We lost too many good people,”Zoey Dollaz writes in the description on his newly-released “RIP.” He follows it up with a few hashtags that note XXXTentacion, Lil Peep, Jimmy Wopo, and Fredo Santana.
The track, produced by Go Grizzly, falls in line with more than a few tribute tracks that have arrived in light of XXXTentacion’s sudden shooting death last week on June 12th.
His death arrives as the latest in which a young and rising star in the hip-hop community has lost their life. On the same day, Pittsburgh upstart Jimmy Wopo was shot and killed as well. Earlier in the year, Fredo Santana died after suffering a fatal seizure while Lil Peep passed away in November of last year after an accidental drug overdose of Xanax laced in the deadly drug fentanyl.
Take a listen to Zoey’s tribute.
Quotable Lyrics:
I know you looking down on me
Know you don't want to see this frown on me
But, missing you just got me down, homie
I never thought that I'd be puttin that caption under my picture
Or typing 'rest in peace, my nigga,' under your picture
