A$AP Ferg just dropped a goodie bag filled with two singles, both inspired by the hysteria created by all these hip hop releases in the early going. Unlike "Not The Boy," a single that employs a monastic chant between verses, "Verified" is hard hitting rap, the kind synonymous with his brand (when he isn't doing product launches for Tiffany's). "Verified" toys with people's general obsession reaching a level of clout on the Internet, hence receiving a check next to one's handle on Twitter or YouTube. You know the drill.
On "Verified," Ferg brags that he's worked with Madonna, then follows with a detailed account of his leisurely habits. No stranger to hyperbole, Ferg quips that you can't swim in a pool filled with piranhas like him. Of course, his music reaches far beyond those borders. Ferg is currently embarked on his Mad Man Tour, taking him as far as the NorthWest, and culminating in a show in Boston, so close to home.
Quotable Lyrics:
New check
Now they followin' me
New check
Now they ridin' with me
Blue check
Blue check you ain't got a blue check
You ain't make a dollar with me
You ain't make a song with Madonna like me.
