The Black Panther challenge is in full effect. The movement, which acts as an attempt to get more kids to see the new Marvel movie, was started on GoFundMe and has raised over $400,000 to date, helping thousands of kids see the new film. Well on Saturday, two of ATL’s hottest rappers, Lil Yachty & Offset, decided to surprise some kids in LA who were at the theaters to see it.
Yachty & Offset decided to hit up Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre Saturday afternoon, where "This is Us" writer Jas Waters set up a fully-funded screening for 500 foster and at-risk children. According to Jas, Offset and Yachty surprised the fans and ended up buying out the rest of the theatre. "This is Us" actor Lonnie Chavis, who plays young Randall on the show, was also on stage along with the two rappers.
TMZ was able to capture some footage of the two ATL rappers surprising the kids, to which they were overjoyed with. “We just wanted to watch this movie with y’all,” Yachty says, “And have a good time” Offset added.
This isn't the first celebrity to help kids see the critically acclaimed movie. Tennis star Serena Williams also bought a theatre for a group of young black girls Thursday in San Francisco.
