While Kanye West is one of the biggest artists on the planet, he hasn't had a massive radio hit in years. The rapper recently spoke to Charlamagne Tha God and revealed that ever since his infamous incident against Taylor Swift, he found it difficult to get any play on the radio. However, his recent comments do not seem to help his cause at all. The rapper is now facing a radio ban from a Detroit station who drew the line after his comments on slavery.
Kanye West is facing a a radio ban from Detroit's 105.1 The Bounce. They issued a statement on Facebook earlier today that revealed that they won't be playing anymore of his music following his TMZ Live appearance.
"We feel like Kanye has gone too far with his latest statement declaring that “slavery was a choice.” The caption read, "We are over it."
Clearly, they're fed up with not only his political stance but allowing his opinions to make headlines. While banning his music doesn't prevent him from saying dumb shit, they also refuse to speak on him any more and give him a platform.
"We don’t want to hear Kanye’s music, we don’t want to play Kanye on our show, we don’t want to talk about Kanye anymore. So we are taking a stand and we aren’t playing his music anymore; we just are refusing to give him a platform." The statement was signed off by hosts of the Morning Bounce, BiGG and Shay Shay.
