9th Wonder drops knowledge bombs on musical history, race, Black Panther, and Bruno Mars.

People love to debate. It's that simple. Sometimes, they'll debate something they don't even care about. Contrarians, devil's advocates, genuine honor seekers, and more. Arguing has become something of an art-form; unfortunately, few can dub themselves a Picasso or Monet. Still, that doesn't stop the masses from targeting damn near everyone and everything. Case in point, Bruno Mars recently found himself trending on Twitter, after accusations of cultural appropriation began flying around willy-nilly. Yet Bruno is for the people. His brand of G-Rated pop-inspired funk has netted him fans spanning across all ages and cultures. Count legendary produced 9th Wonder among them.

9th recently unleashed a vast Twitter rant that some might dub a novel. The poignant and reflective barrage actually touched on several socially-charged topics, from influence to race to longevity. Eventually, he came through in defense of Bruno, writing "So is it Bruno Mars fault that...he was influenced by BabyFace, Teddy Riley, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis...around the same time from a hip-hop side I was influenced by DJ Premier, Pete Rock, and The Beatminerz?" And while the Bruno defense makes for the most accessible angle, his words and analysis are powerful throughout.

When he begins talking about culture, 9th is on some philosopher shit, sounding professor-esque in his approach. "So...the most powerful cultural element in the world....black culture....some of y’all want it to be mainstreamed but not to influence," writes 9th. It might be a lengthy read, but it's interesting to see where the producer's head is at. Check it out below, and peep the full discussion over at 9th's Twitter feed.
