A block party for J Prince Jr.'s birthday ended as shots were fired, hitting two people.

A block party held in Houston yesterday ended tragically as shots were fired into the crowd, seriously injuring two people during a birthday celebration for J Prince Jr. The party was held by legendary Rap-a-Lot Records CEO J Prince's son, who advertised the afternoon event on his social media platforms. The festivities were held in Houston's Fifth Ward, which birthed the record label that Prince Jr.'s father ran. One man is currently fighting for his life and a teenage girl is recovering from her injuries following a shooting at the party. The 15-year-old girl is stable after a bullet grazed her neck, while the man was hit multiple times and is in critical condition.

The current CEO of Rap-a-Lot Records, J Prince Jr. is known for hosting massive block parties for his birthday, with a similar shooting happening several years ago in 2015. Prince Jr. was posting videos of several performances that took place during the festivities on his Instagram story and it is reported that he is unharmed after the shooting. Houston Police Department have not presently made any arrests as they continue to interview witnesses. Troy Finner of the HPD detailed the extent of the shooting, saying, "Several shots were fired. We have two individuals that were hit."
