Burger King has made a bold move to try and beat its rival, McDonald's, by introducing its new burger, the Double Quarter Pound King. It probably sounds familiar because McD's has a similar bite called the Double Quarter Pounder.

"We’d like to offer our deepest condolences to all the flat-top fried double quarter pound burgers out there. We’re flame grilling the competition," Burger King said in a statement, via USA Today

The new burger boasts 60% more beef than the old BK burger and consists of two patties that have a pre-cook weigh of 4 ounces. The burger is set to sell for $5.39 USD. This is not the first time the fast-food chain has so obviously gone after McDonald's. Last Halloween the companies commercial showed a spooky looking Ronald McDonald heading to BK. The tagline was "Come as a clown, eat like a king."
