Pittsburgh has a growing scene of young rappers looking for their slice of success and unfortunately, there is one less member of the community after yesterday. One of the city's up-and-coming rap stars, Jimmy Wopo passed away after a double shooting, weighing heavy on the hearts of the community after losing yet another valued member of the rap world. When we interviewed him last year, Wopo detailed his consistency as one of the main reasons he took off, impressing his city. Wopo was big in Pittsburgh and while most rappers from the 'Burgh don't receive national recognition, Wopo was well on his way.
BallaMac already shared his collaboration with Jimmy Wopo today, keeping his memory alive, but we've also received the first posthumous music video by the artist as well. Sharing the video as a dedication "to those who have lost their lives as a result of fulfilling their dreams," time is allotted to mourn the losses of OG Scum and Jimmy Wopo at the beginning. Rolling deep with his crew, Wopo is matching with his boys in the video, repping the same hoodies.
As we grieve the loss of one of Pittsburgh's finest rappers, check out the new video above.
